How can blogs, wikis and tools like Tagxedo benefit businesses?
The rise of social media has had a direct effect on how business markets itself. Because of the ever changing search engine market, blogs became particularly important to keep rankings high. Fresh, unique content that is referenced by other people on the web is the primary way in which websites improve rankings, thus making blogs the perfect remedy for this type of marketing. Blogs help businesses build and bolster an online presence, which further enhances the credibility of the brick-and-mortar business.
Wikis have become a valuable source of instant knowledge that can be improved upon by the best of the best. The idea of a wiki has forged all kinds of different collaboration tools like Google Docs and the Windows Cloud. Businesses benefit from this because they no longer need to waste countless hours transferring files back and forth. They can simply do live edits and get instant feedback.
Tag clouds are simply a way to organize information. They help users navigate through the most popular ideas on your blog. Businesses can benefit from this because it makes their information easier to categorize and access, which lets users take less clicks to where they want to go. This all in turn leads to higher conversion rates and ultimately higher profit margins.

My First Post
Three things about me!
- I am a web designer and developer. I do this stuff on a day-to-day basis with small businesses, entrepreneurs and internet savvy marketers. My own company website can be found here at http://thomasgriffinmedia.com.
- I love web design and development, but especially web development!
- I consider myself to be a WordPress expert, although that may mean I'm only good enough to be dangerous. :)
